Brian Franklin in The Knot on the Morning of Your Wedding

The Knot featured Brian Franklin, founder of Vows & Speeches, among the wedding pros sharing what to do the morning of your wedding — especially if you’re giving a speech.

If you’re giving a speech during the wedding reception, Brian Franklin, cofounder of Vows & Speeches, recommends rehearsing “as many times as you can” the morning of the wedding. He also advises printing out the speech in a large enough font to read it in what might potentially be dim lighting.

The Knot

The morning of the wedding is your last, best chance to get comfortable with a speech — not to write it. Read it out loud a few times so the words feel like yours, and print it in a font you can actually read when the lights drop. (Whatever you do, don’t deliver it off your phone — a point I got into with Conan O’Brien on his podcast.) That kind of delivery coaching is built into every speech we write at Vows & Speeches.
