Bridal Guide asked wedding pros for the advice couples don’t hear until it’s too late. Brian Franklin, founder of Vows & Speeches, weighed in on the one thing people always put off: the vows.
“Start working on your vows way in advance. Summarizing what you love about your partner in about two minutes is hard, but when it’s done well, it can be one of the emotional highlights of the entire wedding. So many people push it off, and it becomes a source of enormous stress.”

This is the advice I wish every couple heard on day one. Your vows are one of the few parts of the wedding you can start the moment you’re engaged — long before the guest-list and color-scheme debates. Give yourself the runway to write, edit, and practice out loud, and they go from a last-minute panic to the moment people actually cry. It’s the same “prepare, don’t wing it” philosophy I got into with Conan O’Brien on his podcast.
